Miguel Torres Chile: A Legacy of Innovation and Sustainability
Miguel Torres Chile was founded in 1979 by the Torres Family, following the advice of Alejandro Parot, a friend and former classmate of Miguel A. Torres. Drawn to Chile’s favorable climate and soil conditions, and backed by 140 years of winemaking experience in Spain, the Torres Family pioneered the introduction of new technologies in Chilean wine production—such as the first stainless steel tanks for fermentation and aging in French oak barrels.
In 2010, Miguel Torres Maczassek, a member of the family’s fifth generation, arrived in Chile to take over as president, focusing on expanding exports and ensuring the continued success of the winery.
The Torres Family is committed to environmental stewardship and upholding strong Corporate Social Responsibility, reinforced through Fair Trade practices across the entire production process. A series of initiatives are implemented to respect, fulfill, and promote sustainable policies in winemaking.
